Subscriptions and tickets for 2021/2022 season

Dear Music Lovers,

soon we will invite you to exchange season tickets for the new artistic season. The concerts we have prepared try to grasp the current image of the world, in which we can take for granted only constant changes.

In this ocean of change, we want to offer you something we probably all dream of – respite.

When arranging the season’s programme, we wanted to find some respite in contact with works that, like lighthouses, show the way in the fog. Such works are undoubtedly Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125 by Ludwig van Beethoven, which will be performed at the season's inauguration, as well as Symphony No. 7 in C major (‘Leningrad’), Op. 60 by Dmitri Shostakovich, which will be heard in January. Don't be surprised if in the first half of the season we present such pieces as the only ones in the program of a given concert. Last year made us look at traditional concert formats and realize that sometimes shorter programs make the music reach out more and go deeper. We do not completely give up celebrating the diversity of forms and genres during two-part concerts, but at the same time we ask ourselves – can we want anything more after hearing the sounds of Ode to Joy? We would also love to hear your response to this question.

Among the many of outstanding conductors we will host in Katowice, there will appear more often than ever – women. We will see Polish women who triumph all over the world, such as Marta Gardolińska, as well as outstanding conductors representing an enormous wealth of various performance traditions – among others, Rebecca Tong and Lina González-Granados, laureates of the prestigious La Maestra Competition in Paris, will perform in Poland for the first time.

Online concerts will be still with us – not as a lifeline but as space that will permanently broaden our horizons. Through video broadcasts throughout the last season we were able to host in your homes and reach the audiences around the world. This is the relationship we certainly want to deepen.

However, not only will broadcasts of our events travel around the world, but also many subscription concerts have been planned in the form of encounters with the music from different cultures and regions of the world. We will encourage you to join us for musical journeys to France, South America, Great Britain or Slavic countries, among others.

We can already invite you to the season full of great music, exciting meetings and brand new experiences. Above all, however, we would like to invite you to what we know very well, we have longed for and despite all the changes, what remains our sacrosanct tradition – the new season of NOSPR subscription concerts.
