Clelia Cafiero is Italian pianist and conductor. After been noticed by Lawrence Foster, she left her position as orchestra pianist at the Teatro alla Scala of Milan (Italy) where she was since 2013 to be associate conductor at Opéra de Marseille. There, she has been admired every time by public and press.
From 2021 to 2024 she will be guest conductor in France (Toulon, Marseille, Nantes-Angers), Canada (Quebec City) and Italy.
Previously, she was associate conductor for the production of Verdi's Requiem with the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra in Prague (Czech Republic), in Lisbon for Pentatone Records and at Royal Opera House for Puccini's Manon Lescaut. She conducted La Scala Chamber Orchestra in Italy and on tour in China.
After winning the "Assami, women in music for life" prize (young section), her career as a pianist has led her to perform in the world's greatest halls, including Royal Albert Hall in London, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Philharmonie de Paris, Carnegie Hall in New York, National Auditorium of Music in Madrid, LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura as well as tours in Japan, China and Canada.
