JazzKLUB / Collocutor - NOSPR
JazzKLUB / Collocutor
The British baritone saxophonist and flutist Tamar Osborn has studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, spent 20 years as a freelancer, gained experience in both classical music and jazz, and collaborated with Van Morrison, Rhye, the tabla master Tanmoy Bose and Africa Express – a joint project of such stars as Tony Allen, Baaba Maal and Rokia Traoré.
The best known one of her own projects is certainly the Collocutor group, which recorded its latest album, Continuation, in 2020. The shortest description of their music could be modal jazz with strong inspirations drawn from Miles Davis’ electric period, minimalism, Indian classical music, and the sounds of Ethiopian music.
