Piotr Tarcholik graduated from the Academy of Music in Krakow, in  Ewa Szubra-Jargoń’s violin class. Later he perfected his skills under Grigori Zhislin.

Award-winner at the Jeunesses Musicales Competition in Weikersheim  and the Mozart Competition in Krakow. He appears as a guest concertmaster at the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Krakow. In the years 1998-2004 he was the first violin at the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra, Since September 2004 he has been the concertmaster of the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, with which he did a lot of archive recordings, including Violin Concerto No 2 by Sergei Prokofiev.

He has given concerts in many European countries, the United States and Japan. He participated in major European music festivals (e.g. Schiermonnikoog Music Festival in the Netherlands). He cooperated as a soloist with Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra, the Polish Radio Symphonic orchestra in Katowice, Cappella Cracoviensis Chamber Orchestra and Sinfonietta Cracovia Orchestra of the Royal Capital City of Krakow. Since 2003 he has collaborated with the Przemyśl Chamber Orchestra, conducting at the concertmaster’s pulpit.

He has regularly participated in many chamber music projects. The first violin of String Sextet. Together with his wife Monika Wilińska-Tarcholik, he created a violin-piano duo, specialized in sonata repertoire; their debut record featuring compositions by Béla Bartók, Igor Stravinsky and Witold Lutosławski was released a few years ago.

He has numerous recordings to his credit, for such renowned labels as DUX, CD Accord, Chandos, Virgin Classics. He runs the violin class at the Academy of Music in Krakow and lectures at many master classes in Poland and the Netherlands.
